Where your data lives in Rouhi and how to look after it
Your documents, customers and prices live on your computer, encrypted. What that means in practice and the two things you have to do yourself.
Rouhi is not a website: it is a program installed on your computer. Everything you enter stays there, in a database encrypted with a key unique to your installation. Rouhi does not keep your operational data on its servers and nobody outside your computer can see it.
That gives you two things: real privacy, which matters in a practice or a firm, and speed, because searching thousands of documents never waits for a server.
What Rouhi does for you
It encrypts the database and the fiscal certificates, which are never left loose in a folder. It locks the session when nobody is using the program. It records who did what. And it makes automatic backups as often as you choose, to a file or to your email.
So that a backup can be restored on another computer, Rouhi keeps on its servers a protected version of your installation’s key, tied to your license. It is used only when you ask to restore, and every use is audited.
What you have to do
First, keep automatic backups on and send them somewhere other than the same computer: your email or an external drive. A machine that breaks or is stolen without a backup means the data is lost; nobody can recover it, Rouhi included.
Second, keep your recovery code and your passwords safe. The code is what lets you back in if you forget your password; Rouhi does not know it.
If several people work together
One computer keeps the data and the others connect over the shop’s network. Each person signs in with their own user and sees only what their role allows; an employee who leaves loses access at once.
Try Rouhi free for 30 days. Your data starts and ends on your computer.
